Wreaths Across America is a non-profit organization whose mission is to place a wreath on Veteran's graves in National and State cemeteries. The organization got its start as a result of the dream of a twelve-year-old boy, Mr. Morrill Worcester. Mr. Worcester realized that his success as a businessman was in large part due to the values of this Nation and the Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. In 1992, Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine found themselves with an excess of wreaths nearing the end of the holiday season. Seeing an opportunity to make a boyhood dream a reality, efforts to do something special with those wreaths began in earnest. With the help of Maine Senator Olympia Snow and the Maine State Society of DC, arrangements were made for the wreaths to be placed at Arlington National Cemetery. The response was overwhelming and in 2006 the program was expanded. With the help of multiple organizations ceremonies were held simultaneously at 230 locations. From the snow banks of Alaska to the sands of Iraq our Nation's heroes were honored.
The American Legion Bill Bryan Post 110 in McKinney, TX proudly supports the Wreaths Across America program and encourages everyone to help by sponsoring a wreath. Wreaths will be placed at gravesites at the National Cemetery at Grand Prairie, TX on December 13, 2014. Individual, Family, Small Business, and Corporate sponsorships are available at the cost of $15.00 each. Military Tribute Patriot Pairs of wreaths may also be purchased. When you buy a Military Tribute Patriot Pair you buy two wreaths; a flagged wreath will be sent to the home or business address of your choice and the second wreath, which is the same wreath, is placed on Veteran’s graves during annual wreath ceremonies. Military Tribute Patriot Pairs are shipped beginning on November 17th.
